Dramaturgy comes in all shapes and sizes!
MY MISSION
I help writers get clear about their story and characters through deep listening and even deeper questions. I love avant-garde work and plays that deal with heritage, futurism, and symbolism. I’m inspired by so many artists.
SOME REFERENCES
Some of my favorite works are Edufa by Efua Sutherland, The Killer by Eugene Ionesco, Dilemma of a Ghost by Ama Ata Aidoo, Marisol by Jose Rivera, The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekov, Crumbs from the Table of Joy by Lynn Nottage, Natural Man by Theodore E. Brown, Fairview by Jackie-Sibblies Drury, and Ain’t No Mo by Jordan E. Cooper.
GOOD TO KNOW
But beyond these plays, I love work that asks big questions, play with spectacle, and plays that redefine traditional play structures.

"While I believe in being fairly compensated for my labor, I also believe in accessibility and allowing a range of folks access to this kind of support. I’m happy to discuss pricing and work needs at every level to find what works for all"
Divinia Shorter
These minimums ensure that the energetic exchange still feels good for me as the provider, while making services more accessible to those who many need them to be.

Pay Transparency: Why a Pay Scale?
I believe in price transparency — not just
in numbers, but context. My pricing reflects the quality, time, and customization that goes into every project.
The following questionnaire will help you easily choose the plan that fits you the most.
the Checklist
Have you ever had your play produced?
Has your work been published through theatrical licensing companies (Samuel French, Concord, etc.)?
Have you won any monetary awards for your work?
Do you have advanced degrees?
Do you teach at the university level?
Do you have health insurance?
Are you represented by a literary agent or manager?
Has your work received coverage or reviews from national theatre critics or publications (e.g., American Theatre, NYT, HowlRound)?
Do you have access to professional legal support or contract review when needed?
Do you feel confident turning down unpaid or low-paid opportunities without financial harm?
Get in touch!
Have a project in mind?
Let's work together!
I love working with creatives who have exciting projects no matter the phase of development.
